                                                    EVENING LECTURE PROGRAMME 2007/2008

We would like to invite all those interested in archaeology to come along to our evening lectures.  This year, the topics range widely through time and space.

18th October 2007            Dr Matthew Fitzjohn, School of Classics, Archaeology and Egyptology, University of Liverpool.  Grand designs:  Explorations of the form, function and experience of domestic space in the Ancient Greek world”

15th November 2007            Dr Ashley Cooke, World Museum Liverpool. “Liverpool, Egypt and Beyond”.

17th January 2008            Dr Eveline Van der Steen, School of Classics, Archaeology and Egyptology, University of Liverpool. “Bedouin landscape and poetry”.

21st February 2008             Dr Matthew Ponting, School of Classics, Archaeology and Egyptology, University of Liverpool.  “Beauty is only skin deep: deception, coinage and chemistry under the Roman Empire”.

20th March 2008            Dr Graham Oliver, School of Classics, Archaeology and Egyptology, University of Liverpool.  “Remembering the war dead: monuments and the individual in ancient and modern societies”.

All our evening lecture meetings take place at 7.30 pm on the third Thursday of the month in Lecture Theatre A in the Modern Languages Building of Liverpool University, Chatham Street.  The lecture theatre is on the ground floor.  There is a charge of £1 for non-members.
